Letters from Families & Troops

Ladies!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for greeting my son and all the other soldiers with him!!! Thank you for the pictures! My son is in the very first picture and the lady who is shaking his hand has blessed my heart more than I can tell you. Her expression was full of love and admiration for my soldier. Thank you so very, very much. These deployments are heart wrenching. It's his third deployment so one would think that by now I would have grown accustomed to it but I'm not.

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for what you do for our soldiers. May the Lord of heaven and earth bless you as you bless our military.. CS

Dear ladies,

What a great surprise! A friend emailed me the link to your site and there were two pictures with my son there! What a great thing you are doing by meeting the troops like you do and putting the photos online. This is his third deployment to the Middle East and I am sure he thought this was a great gesture on the part of you ladies. Thanks again.

A very grateful mother, SH

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies,

I just saw a picture of my husband on your website as he deployed to Iraq and I felt the need to thank you all. I miss him so much and it was extremely hard to watch him get on that plane. He was on the phone with me when you all took the picture and seeing his face made it a little easier to deal with him being gone. I truly appreciate what you're doing as I am a soldier also. I will spread the word so that others can see their family members as well. Thank you again so much.

Good Afternoon Ladies,

I am a mother of an Airman, which was deplored on Sept 9. I just wanted to think you ladies for a wonderful thing that you are doing. I have not heard from my son since 3:45 pm on 09/09/09. I'm praying that God will keep each an everyone of the service men and women save from harm and bring them back home to their love ones. My son gave me this website to check for his picture. He told me that he was speaking to me as you photographed he. Of course, that just warmed my. I will continue to look for his photo. Thanks, Keep up the good work and my God continue to bless you and your families

Mrs. C. & Family

I am an army spouse. My husband SPC B. deployed from Fort Hood on September 9, and you ladies were at Bangor airport to welcome my hero. I am so thankful and appreciative of what you ladies do for our troops. I am also so grateful to you ladies because you give a sense of calmness to us, the families back home, when we see these pictures of our loved ones who arrive at Maine safely, and receive a wonderful and caring welcome. You ladies also help our heroes in lending cell phones so they are able to contact their loved ones back home to reassure us that they have arrived safe after a long plane flight. Thank you once again for your generosity and hard work.

Once again, thank you so very much, and may God bless all of you ladies and our troops. LB

Flag Ladies,

I am a Marine and appreciate your dedication. Sometimes when my faith in America and Americans, or I blunder into thoughts questioning God's plan, I get a message from someone showing the support that some Americans feel for

the work done by the few.

Thank you for your support and adding to the light of faith,

Sincerely,

Hello to all of the wonderful people in Maine!

On August 9th I was on a flight to Iraq and we passed through your area. It was so surprising and humbling to be greeted so warmly at 0200 hours! When most folks are at home all snug in their beds you all were waiting on us to land. The warmth of your kindness was a blessing. In a time when we were all a bit tired and maybe somewhat scared and definitely saddened to be leaving all of our loved ones behind for a year of change and uncertainty you made us smile and remember why we do what we do.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for all of your support. It means the world to us.

Very respectfully,

Hello Ladies. I live in Ackerman, Mississippi. And, even though we have never met, you have touched my life in a very special way. My husband is currently deployed overseas with the MS Army Nat'l Guard, and I have recently learned that when he had a layover in Bangor on his way to Kuwait, you wonderful ladies and others took care of our soldiers while there. I want to express my gratitude for your selflessness and devotion to providing support and friendship (no matter how temporary) to our loved ones. It makes me so thankful that there are still people in the world who care about other people, especially those who protect our freedom. I also want to thank you for capturing them on camera and taking the time to send a cd of those photos to us. At our most recent FRG meeting this past Saturday, every spouse and mother/grandmother present sat behind me at my computer and searched each and every picture for our loved one. Just like every family who has a loved one deployed, we are anxiously awaiting the time when they will come home to us again. And, you have provided us with images that we might not have otherwise seen. So, again ladies, I thank you for everything you have done to show that you care. I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. May God richly bless you as you bless others.

Sincerely, LS

Thanks so much for the response to my email. I understand completely that you can't be there for every flight. But what you do is greatly appreciated. I enjoyed looking at the pictures and you did capture pics of a lot of the flights from his company. We very much appreciate your prayers...and although it might be tough having an empty seat at the dinner table every night, we give thanks for his service and pray that he will return to us safely.

God Bless each and every one of you! May the Lord Bless you and keep you as you all are TRUE disciples of Jesus Christ.

Sincerely, AB

Army Mom...Spec. CB 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

Thank you for giving my husband and his troops such a warm and loving "Hail and Farewell" in Bangor. (Aug 20th). It's a comfort to know that as he left the States, he was appreciated and saw friendly faces.

I count you all as a blessing to our family.

Many Thanks, AW

Thank you ladies so much for posting those pictures of the Army flight Aug. 24, 2009! What you do is just amazing and so kind. It's people like you who make me so proud to be married to a soldier. My husband was on that flight and there was a picture of him eating lunch. It was really nice to see that other people care about our soldiers just as much as we do. You ladies and the gentlemen who were there welcoming them and supporting them just makes me heart melt!

God Bless you all, MK

Hello to all of you wonderful ladies!

My son was on his way to Iraq in Aug. 24th, 2009. He called to let me know how he was and how wonderful it was to have strangers greet them and appreciate them.

Even though I never found a picture of him on the site, just knowing it was his company made me feel closer to him. And knowing you all care so much to do what you do makes everyone back here at home burst with pride.

Thank you so very much from the bottom of our hearts in Texas!

Dear JoAnn,

Thanks again for forwarding Elaine's weekly messages. I appreciate reading them. She has a talent for writing thoughtful verse.

It's so wonderful that you continue to go to "The Hill" to honor 9/11 victims and fallen soldiers. I'm sure that families appreciate what you do. You give a visible reminder that you remember and honor their sacrifices.

We received word that our son and his battalion arrived safely in Iraq. Thank you again for meeting them as they left Bangor.

God Bless you!

Love, KW

Hello,

I am a sister to SSGT NF. He was on the transport that you met at the airport last week. I just wanted to take a moment to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything that you are doing. It meant a lot to me to see the pictures that you posted. And to know that he had someone to cheer him on while he was on his way to Iraq.

Thank you again for everything that you are doing!! SF

Dear Flag Ladies.

Thank you for the work you do to support our servicemen. I spotted my son, Andrew, in one of your photos, and it made me cry. He tried to phone me once he got into Germany, but I missed his call and was very, very sad. He was probably only allowed on call, and I missed it!

I don't know if he awoke after his picture was taken at the Bangor airport... or if he was on the receiving end of one of your special gifts, but I wanted to say thank you, nonetheless, for your kindness. You are truly special ladies.

Our house sits across the street from a cemetery. As I was cutting grass today, I heard some gunshots. I stopped the lawnmower, only to realize that a bugler had begun to play taps. I stood silently in my yard, and tears filled my eyes. Freedom is not free. Our heroes pay the price. I couldn't bring myself to start the lawnmower back up until the cemetery had cleared. Thank you again for your important work!

CM, mother of AW, 82nd Army Airborne

Hello Flag Ladies!

Thank you so much for all that you do. You have no idea what a blessing you are to our troops! I did find my husband in 3 of the pictures.

Thanks again so very much - we the families appreciate your dedication to our troops and our country.

I just wanted to take a minute this morning to say a BIG Thank YOU! Ladies, I appreciate the pictures I received of my son as he deployed to Iraq, and came through your airport enroute! He looked so tired, but it was wonderful to get a glimpse of his smiling face as he prepared to leave for Germany, then on to Iraq!

God Bless You!

CS, Proud Army Mom of SFC RR

I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to you. My younger brother was greeted by you recently on a stop over to Iraq. It is comforting to know that your group was able to bring a smile to his face and send him off knowing how much America cares about our troops.

Thank you, with all of my heart. SD

Your website is wonderful, very touching. I found my new husband on your picture site! It made my day, thank you so much. It does really help, especially during these tough times to just see where he is and how he is doing.. thank you. :)

AJ

I just received the link to your website and was so excited to see pictures of my husband! I've only been able to talk to him once since he left so this was such a treat!!!

Thank you so much for taking such good care of our loved ones...meeting a plane at 12:15am is so unselfish and very much appreciated!!!!

Once again, thank you so much...you made my weekend!!

Sincerely, LL

Dear Ladies,

I applaud your endeavors most heartedly! It is my daughter's second trip to Iraq and it brought tears to my eyes to see her in your pictures. It is hard on families, wives, husbands, and children to see the service member leave but it is even harder for Moms! Knowing I will not see her for months on end, I enjoyed the brief contact you had with her verified by the pictures. Please, keep doing what you are doing!

Thank you,

ME

Dear Carmen, Elaine and JoAnn:

My son was a part of the 82nd Airborne Unit of soldiers who arrived in Bangor this morning at 5:10 am. I can’t even begin to express my gratitude for your efforts and kindness in greeting these soldiers. It sure did this Mom’s heart a tremendous amount of good to see the wonderful picture you took of my son as he awaited his flight from Bangor to Germany and then on to Kuwait. Saying “thank you” certainly doesn’t even begin to express my feelings towards you ladies. If there is any way I can assist you, please let me know. You have touched the hearts of so many soldiers and their families---thank you, thank you, thank you!! God bless you!! I will keep you in my prayers along with my son and his Unit.

Anita, a very grateful Mom!!

I just wanted to thank you for what you do. The pictures you took at the airport yesterday morning turned out great! My husband is in one of the pictures. I already miss him terribly, so it was really nice to be able to see his smiling face :)

Thank you! LA

Dear Flag Ladies, I just want to thank you for what you do, sending the troops off with “hugs and prayers” and great them with a “family welcome”. You sent my husband … for his tour in Iraq last September, my husband is in the Navy and usually his deployments are on a ship, put this deployment he volunteered to work with the Army for 1 year, this means that he was “A Boots on the Ground Warrior”. I am very happy to tell you that he is finally home and safe. What you and your group do is a true blessing for our troops.

Thank you, BW

Hello Ladies!!

I wanted to first start by thanking you all so much for doing what you do! It is greatly appreciated and I respect every single one of you!

I would love to request a few pictures of my husband!!

I look forward to getting these pictures!! Thank you all for what you do, myself and many of the other wives whose husbands deployed on the 20th are very thankful that you were there to get pictures of them as they headed off. Thank you so much again and God Bless!

Sincerely, KG

Hello Ladies... First of all I would like to personally thank you for the wonderful job that you all do. It warms my heart to know that there are people out there like y'all that are willing to serve the community in such a selfless, marvelous way.

I recently had the pleasure of viewing photos of my young daughter on your site and I understand that it is possible for you to send me larger versions of these pictures.

If you are able to send these to me I would be MOST grateful. Thank you once again so much for all you do.

Sincerely, Mrs. GG

Dear JoAnn,

Thank you so much for forwarding Elaine's message.  God Bless the three of you for your love and dedication to those who perished on such a "normal" day, just going to work and taking care of their families, or rescuing others.  Your efforts are remarkable and I appreciate the personal sacrifice you have made to honor the 9/11 victims and the current soldiers and families.

Have a wonderful day.  Thanks again for including me in your posts.  Elaine's prayer is beautiful.

Hello,

My husband and I spoke at about 1:00 this morning. He was at the Bangor airport and mentioned your phenomenal hospitality. Thank you so much for making it feel homey. He felt so at home he mentioned that if there was a group such as yours in Indiana that his mother should be a part of it. Anyway, I was wondering when the pictures from this morning would be on your website as he mentioned that someone took a photo of him while we were speaking. I emailed Mr. Kohl and he said that it was your group taking the photos this morning. I look forward to hearing from you.

All the Best, SB

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies,

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for all that you do. Some people may not think that meeting our troops at their last stop on U.S. soil is important but to me and my family it made a world of difference. My husband deployed with the 1192nd EN CO attached to the 101st EN BN. They arrived in Maine on August 3rd. That was a very emotional day in my house as well as the houses others who deployed with him. When I was able to look at your website as well as the one from smugmug my day was brightened. It did my heart good to see these fine men and women smiling as they disembarked their planes. Yours service is one of enormous proportion to those of us who get to experience our loved ones last hours (for an extended time) on U.S. soil through your cameras lens and for that I THANK YOU!

Angie

Ladies,

My brother deployed with the 1192nd en co on August 3, 2009. He went through Bangor Airport and was greeted by you. I can't begin to tell you how much it means to our family that you and others have taken the time to greet these soldiers. It is comforting to know that he was sent off with such appreciation and compassion. I am very excited about the picture that you took. I am due to deliver twins tomorrow and can't wait to frame the picture so my boys will know their uncle when he returns. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.

Family of the 1192nd en co

Dearest ladies,

My beautiful baby boy left for Afghanistan on July 27th for his 1st tour since joining in October. He left from Texas and being from California we were unable to see him off.  It was the hardest thing to imagine that I would not be able to wave to him "See you soon, honey!"  as he boarded the plane.  Needless to say I cried the entire day.  When he called me from Maine and told me that you ladies were there and to check the website, I went on it every hour until his pictures were posted!  When I finally saw his beautiful smile, I cried even more.  I saw not only him, but all the brave men and women leaving to protect our freedoms!  I felt a relief knowing that you were there to shake his hand and wave to him when he boarded the plane saying an say to him "See you soon, soldier'!

Thank you for being there for my son!!  I will forever be grateful and can't wait to see his face in your pictures when he once again steps foot into the United States!!

Good Afternoon Freeport Flag Ladies,

I am the wife of one of the soldiers you greeted on Fight # 2 on Monday 8/3/09. It so wonderful for you to do what you do, not only for our soldiers but also for the families. When my husband & I said goodbye weeks ago, I did not think I would see him for a very long time. But, thanks to all of you I got to your website freeportflagladies.com & there he was…..

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.  I miss him so much but seeing the warm welcome you gave his Unit before leaving the U.S. is truly priceless.

Thank you so much for representing our great nation like you do….it is DEEPLY appreciated.

God Bless You Always, SG

Dear Carmen, Elaine and Joann,

Hi!  My son just deployed to Iraq.  He came through Bangor International Airport with the

1192nd  EN CO (Army National Guard) - 101st Engineering Battalion on Monday, August 3rd.  I want to thank you for being there to see these men and women off on their deployment.  It is so wonderful that you take time to do this and your many other activities.  I so appreciate you selfless dedication.  It is nice to know that you were there to see my son and many other soldiers off when my husband and I couldn't be there, especially since it is his first deployment.

Again, thank you so much for your efforts.  We are very grateful.

Sincerely, KW

Hello ladies,

I am the wife of a soldier in the 1434th EN  CO that came through the airport in Bangor yesterday, August 3, 2009.  First, I want to tell you thank you for what you are doing.  We are obviously going through a very emotional time right now.  When my husband called me and told me about you ladies he was so happy, it really made his day.  And today when I saw the photos, it was very calming to me to see his smiling face--I haven't actually seen him in more than a week.  You truly made the first two days of this very difficult time for us much easier!  Again, thank you.

I was also wondering if I could have permission to put these photos up on my Facebook page.  I know our friends and family would love to see them and I would be very happy to include the link to your site.  I know everyone will want to know about what you do.

Again, thank you so much for everything you are doing.

Sincerely, KN

Hello, I just wanted to thank you for all you do for our sons. My son left Bangor on Aug 3rd 09. Headed for Kuwait. He called me from the airport to let me know he was on his way.  He was flying into Bangor from Wisconsin, he did not know he would be stopping to refuel or I would have been there to see him off. As I sit here with tears in my eyes, I know that you were there, and I felt somehow represented by you lovely ladies. Please accept my deep appreciation for all that you do for our Men going off to war.  I will remember you ladies in my daily prayers.  God Bless You, and our Troops.

A very Grateful mother..of Staff Sgt. JT of York Maine

Hello Ladies-

My name is Jane Ralph and I am a mother of an Army Reserve Specialist from Illinois. He will be reporting for duty tomorrow morning before heading to Iraq. I do not know where his unit will fly out of, but I wanted to tell you thank you for all that you do for our troops.

I was given your info from a friend whose son is now in Iraq. We joke that Iraq couldn’t handle both our boys at once – and I just spent quite a bit of time on your website. What an awesome job you have chosen for yourselves!!!

Once again, thank you for taking the time to be there for so many of our soldiers as they leave our country to fight for our freedom. You will always be considered angels in my eyes!!

JR Barry, Illinois

Ladies,

I again applaud your dedication and caring for our soldiers.  I read your poems each week.  You saw my son off to Iraq in 2005 and welcomed him home in 2007.  He commented about the smiles on your faces.  Your photo album is

Heartwarming.  If the whole world had an ounce of your compassion we would all live in a safe and wonderful world!  Keep up the good work.  You are an

inspiration to us all.  You have suffered and continued.....Bless you!  We as a people can all learn from selflessness.  Keep up the good work.....hope it won't be needed much longer!

Forever grateful mother,

Hello, I am a new member of the blue star moms in Contra Costa County, California. I saw your web site and found 3 pictures of my son. I am so grateful for you ladies. My son has never been away from home until he joined the army and it has been very difficult for me. I've been sick with worry since he got his orders for Afg. and even more when I knew he was on the plane. Knowing that there are people in far away places that care about our troops including my son means everything to me. Thank you for posting those pictures.

Once again a very deep and heartfelt thank you for your care and support.

Michelle, Pleasant Hill, CA

Saying goodbye to our 23-year-old son is never easy, even though this is his third deployment.  Because of your willingness to serve and show support to the troops, we were given an amazing gift…pictures of him while he was at an airport in Maine, waiting to board his plane for Afghanistan.  Even though we couldn’t be there, it is such a comfort to know 3 precious ladies treated him like family during those final minutes before leaving the USA.  Many thanks, and God bless you!

PS

Hello, My husband is one of the men you photographed and met at the airport in Bangor on July 27th.

I want to thank you all for taking the time and effort to do something like this, the pictures you took helped ease my worry a lot, and though they made me cry a little, it was sort of cleansing. He looked so good! And one of the pictures he was talking to me on the phone, which was very special. He was happy to see you all, and was excited to tell me about your website. You have helped make a really tough time a little easier.

Thank you again

KM

I found my boy friend on the third page sitting in between to other soldiers on his computer. This picture made me incredible happy for the fact that he was on his laptop chatting with me before he deployed. Thank you so much for being there to welcome them I know it means a lot to them knowing they have people there to support their decision. I read practically everything on your web sit and I salute you. Not that many people are willing to give up everything including time, energy, and money. May god bless all of you, and thank you again for posing the pictures so quickly

Dear Wonderful Ladies,

My son and his unit arrived home safely and had their demobilization yesterday. Our prayers were answered. But we continue to pray and support all of our men and women, servicing all over the world, to keep us free. Thank you, again, for your amazing and unwavering commitment to our military men and women.

My boyfriend called me to tell me how you all welcomed them, and gave them a shiny penny. I teared up because of the support and love you showed them all. Thank you for taking the time to welcome them and assemble the special pennies.

Keep doing what you’re doing, because that’s amazing

I just want to say thank you for all you do. It’s amazing that you all are able to support our troops like you do. My father was on this flight, and I cant thank you enough for putting a smile on his face before he flew over seas. As you can imagine we miss him very much. Keep up the awesome work! Thanks so much for making this site available to us.

JB

Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!  My husband was there on July 10th on flight 2.  He gave me your website and told me y'all took a pic of him.  You not only have one, but he is in 6 pics!!! I'm so ecstatic.  He has only been gone a few weeks, but its soo good to see him on your website!  If you have time can you please send me copies of the pics he is in.  I made a list.  He is SSG R.....my husband and best friend!!! Oh and he is still carrying around his penny!

Hello, I am one of the mothers of one of the troops whom you recently greeted and I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your awesome gesture.

My son deployed with C-Battery 1/147th FA on July 1st and he told me all about you and that you took pictures of the troops and posted them online. I am so grateful to know that folks like you with their small gestures show their support and make our troops feel so appreciated.

If I can help in any way please let me know. I feel that your support should be supported and I will keep you in my prayers.

I am happy to announce my son came home from Iraq Sunday.  I couldn't believe the peace I felt when I woke up Monday morning. I pray that this peace will be with each parent and spouse of our amazing soldiers who are serving overseas and that their loved ones will also return home soon.  Thank you for your emails and sustaining hope during my son's deployment.  My love to you wonderful ladies,  God Bless You.

Dear Freeport Ladies,

First of all, we would like to say how much that we appreciate you for all that you do. It is so good to go
to a web site and see your soldier's photo on there while he is at the airport. You ladies are truly a blessing frrom God.

Our son is in one of those photos. This is his first deployment to Afghanistan. And yes, like all other families, we are having a hard time with it. And it makes us feel better just to know that there are people like you who care so much and would take the time to do what you do. We are going to keep you in our prayers.

Again, thank you so much for everything!

My son called me tonight when he got to Maine.  Thank You all so very much for what you have done for our soldier’s.   I wish I could be there too thank each and every one of you.  Ty was so amazed that all of you went through what you did for them.   He is a member of the 1/147th FA unit.  First time deployed. His family has gone through allot.  I am so very proud of him and his unit.  You all made his flight a little easier. THANK YOU ALL so very much.  I will pass your web suite on.

God be with you all!!

Thank You so VERY MUCH!!

People like You make life much easier.

SK

You all will never know how much I appreciate what you do. This is my son's first deployment and a friend of mine contacted me to tell me about you web site. I looked and looked and finally found him and his friends. You said you could send me some originals. That would be greatly appreciated because I am trying my best to make him a scrapbook of this time in his life. My Father fought in ww2 and we didn't have anything of his. So I know when my son has children one day he can look back at this book and share stories with his children and grandchildren. I have gathered as much information as I could.

Again Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart.

Sincerely, BW mother to SPC:AW US Army National Guard in Ms.

Thank you so much for what you do.  My son is 19 and this is my 1st experience with the military.  Needless to say I am very concerned about his deployment.  When he called me from Bangor and said you were there to take pics of them and then put them on a web site so we could view them - I was so excited.  I checked every day until you had them loaded.  (I know that must take up so much time - I am a camera fanatic)

It made the parting a little easier.  Thank you again.

LB

You are the ones who deserve all the thanks! I received the information about your wonderful program through my niece whose son was just deployed to Iraq. His picture along with many other MS soldiers was on your web site. We really appreciate you all raising their spirits and supporting them as they embarked on their mission. You are very special to give your time and resources to the soldiers. God Bless You, and best wishes for much success.

SM

To all of you welcoming our soldiers,

I want to thank you so much for what you do.  My husband called me immediately when he landed in Bangor to let me know how good it felt to get off the plane and be greeted by all of you.  I had received e-mail forwards before showing this sort of thing happening in airports but wondered if this ever happened, especially this many years after 9/11.  I must tell you that I teared up when I viewed the pictures for the first time.  Thank you for reaching out to so many military men and women.  They really appreciate everything you do and their families do too!

Thanks again for all you do!

EB

I'm not sure who will receive this email, but all I can say is THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!! The day my son landed there I had missed his call which tore my heart to pieces. Then, a friend of mine who's husband is in the same Battalion told me about your website. What a God send. Just seeing my son's face lit up my world and my spirits. I am absolutely overwhelmed by you all's generosity and just caring. Caring enough for others who you all have no connection with, just to come and greet them and take pictures is, well, there are no words to describe it. Your efforts and thoughtfulness do not go unnoticed. As a mother it meant everything to me....again, thank you and God Bless The USA!!

Thank you in advance for your time and thoughtfulness.

Keep praying for our troops and keep paying it forward.

LPW

Thank you for the job you do. My father was killed in action in WWII and I think that to have someone like you as well as my mom there would have been a wonderful thing. Someone else to remember his sacrifice. Thanks again. You do a wonderful thing for us all.

TY

I can't tell you how much what you ladies do means to me.  My son has just left for Iraq.  He is only 20 y/o soldier but will always be my baby.  It so nice to know that all of you are there to show your support.  Being so far from home, it good to know that he is being greeted with friendly faces and big smiles.  Keep up the good work.  I would love to come to Maine and help show my support.

Thanks again for taking time to show such a kind jester.

PW Starkville, MS

To the sweet young ladies,

My name is SSG Z, I spent a little bit of time with you ladies in Maine was great. The support that you give all branches is outstanding and great to see that people do care. I passed through Maine in March of this year. But just you ladies being there that late and early make for great Americans. I just wanted to say thank you and keep up the good work. I know when I get as young as you ladies I am going to do the same thing. Well keep warm up there and keep on keeping on!!! And continue to support the men and women of the armed forces.

Very respectfully,

SSG Z

First of all let me thank you from the bottom of my heart for the love you show.  This is my son's second deployment and there is no way to express what it means to see a photo of him after the dreaded "bus event."  It is so hard to have that image, and so reassuring to see these-and to see someone cares.  I'm sure you have been told before and will be again how generous and kindhearted you are - but please add my appreciation to that.  Not just because you've cared for my son - but for the person you must be to care enough to do it.

Again, thank you so much.

Thanks so much for sending the pictures from the airport in Bangor, Maine as our soldiers were departing the country to deploy overseas.

You are truly wonderful Godly people to take time out of your lives to meet every plane for those who are serving our country.

Since we were not able to be with our soldiers at that point, I feel totally humbled by this special act of kindness.  I was told some people drive as much as two hours to do this.  To me that is Christian love put into action.   May God blessings rest upon each one of you and please let the others know this mother in Wisconsin will ever be grateful.

You are in my prayers,

Illa

Ladies,

I want to thank you sooo much for what you are doing for the morale of our troops. I just heard from my husband, SSG JM, and he was one of the soldiers that you have greeted. He sounded all smiles due to the very warm welcome that he received from you. Every soldier from every unit is very special to someone and I thank you for loving them and caring enough about them to be there at a time when their loved ones could not. God had blessed you all with this special mission and I will thank him everyday for your willingness to do it. Thank You from the bottom of my heart and may God continue to bless you.

I have sat at my desk and cried this morning as I looked at your website and saw what you do. There are just not enough thank yous in the world to give you.  Please know that this lady in Marietta, Georgia, is thinking about you, praying for you, and thanking God for what you do.  You are an incredible testimony to the beauty of love!  I send you my heart and my prayers,

Pam

I want to thank you so much for the work that you do for the troops and their families.  My son was one of the Marines that were on the 4th flight into Bangor (he is the one with the hat on) (his best buddy is the other boy in the picture).  They were on their way to Afghanistan.

Thanks to you I got to see a picture of my son through your eyes.  I haven't seen him since Easter and although that's not a long time it's long enough for a mom.  He is stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina and I live in Michigan.  His deployment date had been changed so much I was just not able to schedule a time to be with him. I'm sure the pictures that you take mean the world to family members that cannot be with their loved ones before they deploy.

So, thank you and all the volunteers for what you do for all these wonderful service men and women that are serving our country.  You are amazing.

I copied the pictures of my son off your website and I'm having prints of them made.

God Bless you and all the volunteers for the special work that you are doing.

Sincerely,

KL Mom of Sgt JH

Thank you ladies so much for the wonderful work you do. God has given you a burden for our troops and I praise him for that. I am blessed to be married to a wonderful soldier who left yesterday for his second tour. It is such an encouragement to know that there are still Americans out there who care about what our men and women are doing for their country. My children and myself thank you for the kindness that you have shown the soldiers of the 155th Heavy Combat Brigade from the Mississippi Army National Guard.

 Dear Dear Flag Ladies,

Thank you so much for what you do!  As the mother of a Marine who was passing through there recently, I really appreciate the patriotism you show and attention you pay to our troops.  My husband pulled up your website this afternoon and low and behold there was our son in several pictures!  It jolted us, as this was the last time he would be on American soil for quite awhile!  We browsed after that and saw what an amazing group you are!!!! I felt comforted that you were all there when I could not be to see him off (of course, we live in Rhode Island so it was doable…but he would not hear of it because he thought it would be too sad).  So again, thank you from my whole family.

Love,

Carmen, Elaine and Jo Ann,

I just wanted to take the time to thank you for what you are doing!!  My daughter is engaged to a wonderful young Cpl in the marines and because of you she now has an amazing couple of pictures of her sweetheart.  No words can describe the excitement in her eyes being able to have those pictures.  This is her first deployment since they have been engaged so any shred of contact or memento of him is obviously priceless.  These pictures will go into a scrapbook that Amanda's maid of honor is making as a wedding present for them.  I am a Navy brat myself with a father that proudly served our country for 32 years.  I know all to well that the support we give our troops is immeasurable and not always understood by some.  Some from the bottom of my heart thank you from a soon to be Marine Corp mother-in-law!!

Grateful, AB

I thank you for the time each of you take to go and meet the soldiers and welcome them back and see them off. I know that my husband appreciated this when you did it for him on June 10, 2009 Flight 3 … I wish I could have been there, but I do thank you for being there. It means a lot to the families that can't be there with them to have people to greet them

Again, thank you so much for all that you do,

JL

Dear Ladies,

Thank you for being there for my son as he was a recipient of your kindnesses yesterday.  He was with a reserve Marine unit going to Israel and ya'll were kind and generous enough to let him use your phone.  I have had two other sons, also Marines, who have had wonderful things to say about you on their trips to Iraq.  Thank you for all ya'll do!

Freeport Flag ladies,

I want to say first “God Bless you ladies”. What a wonderful thing you do for the service men & women and the families they leave behind. Words cannot express the gratitude that I feel in my heart for not only my loved one that left for Iraq last week but for all the hundreds/thousands of service men and women that you greet and send off and welcome into and out of our country each week. I had never heard of your website but was told to look you ladies up from my loved one the night he flew into Maine prior to leaving to Kuwait then on to Iraq. The pictures are so great and it was wonderful to be able to see him again one last time even if it was in a picture.

We all have so much to be thankful for the sacrifices all the servicemen/women make for our country that most all take for granite. For so many it is out of site out of mind. Your cause and website was very touching to me. I pray for his and his units along with the entire arm force branches safe mission there and back and I hold comfort in knowing he will be also welcomed back into the country by you wonderful ladies

Kindness is the language the blind can see and the deaf can hear.

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart, JA

Dear Elaine, JoAnn and Carman, I learned about you ladies from my friend, …whose nephew met you on his way to Iraq.  As a WWII veteran, I remember the people who treated us at the canteens.  I want to thank you for the kindness shown to these men and women.  You are ladies with big hearts.  I realize at a point you become tried.  At night, as you lay your heads on your pillows be assured that these men and women will never forget you.  My only regret is that I didn't take the names of those who were kind to me that I could at some point have written and thanked them.  From the bottom of my heart I say thank you to them thru you ladies.  May God Bless you.

Thank you ladies for greeting my husband and his fellow Marines on June 11th.  I was so happy to also receive a phone call because of you ladies.  It meant the world to me to know he had arrived safely on the first leg of his long trip.  They had left early that morning at 2:00AM and I was having a hard time keeping awake plus keeping my emotions in check that I never got one last picture before he left.  Thanks to you kind ladies I have two pictures of my husband before he left for Afghanistan.  Thank you very much! Thanks so much!

Cheers, GL

First off I want to thank you all for your support and kindness to all our troops! My husband told me about you all as soon as I picked up the phone! I have enjoyed looking through all the pictures seeing smiling faces. There are 4 pictures I would like from the June 11,2009 flight of Marines.

Thank you again. You really are making a difference!
